How many SMEs wish they could tap
into the kind of distribution network
honed inside a giant multi-national
company? With Bankside Business
Services, you can.
Bankside is wholly-owned by Shell
International Ltd and has proven itself as
a profit centre within the Shell group of
companies. Order processing and storage
for most of the Shell companies based in
Shell Centre, London is carried out by
Bankside.
However, Bankside also has many non-
Shell clients and is proving a boon to SMEs
looking to outsource. It provides an online
web-based order processing and storage
facility.
Where a business wishes to outsource its
warehousing, order fulfilment and product
despatch operations, Bankside can provide
the answer.
General manager Martin Ball explained: |

|
“Clients with their own web site and online
shopping mall can be linked into our order
processing system, such that an order
placed by a client's customer is routed into
our system to be shipped.
“Shipments are routed via courier or
post and can be sent anywhere in the world.
Export procedures are in place and payment
for goods can be taken via invoice or
credit card. Orders placed before 2.30pm
are normally shipped the same day
“Running alongside this operation to
either support it or as a stand-alone,
Bankside provide a direct mailing service.
Following checking for errors and duplications,
mailings can be in the form of
laser printed labels, personally addressed
letters can contain magazines and any
other form of marketing literature.
“Past mailing has included all forms of
promotional items ranging from more traditional
items such as coasters through to
one mailing where we posted a mug of tea
and a biscuit.” |
